Everyone in the World needs a pair of clean and unaffected lungs to breathe in fresh air. So from the new born babies to the poor man on the streets and finally to the rich man sitting pretty in the latest SUV we all need a good and healthy lungs to breathe properly.
What are lungs?

According to an article found on patient info,Lungs are a pair of spongy air filled organs located on either side of the chest whose main function is to carry oxygen from the air we breathe to enter into red cells in the blood and get rid of carbon dioxide when we breathe out. The red blood cells then carry the oxygen around the body to be used in the cells found in the body.
This organ if not properly catered for with the right amount of healthy foods and drinks can deteriorate forming chronic diseases and sickness among which can be;
Lung cancer caused by excessive smoking
Tuberculosis caused by pneumonia causing bacteria called mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Cystic fibrosis; a genetic condition in which mucus does not clear easily from the chest.
Bronchiectasis known as inflammation of the airways which results to coughing with large amount of mucus.
Others includes Pneumothorax, Influenza, Histoplasmosis, SARS, Pulmonary hypertension etc resulting from lung diseases.
Foods and drinks are the major causes of the abnormalities exhibited by our lungs thereby causing them to malfunction. Eating healthy can be very difficult but you might have to avoid these foods that have the tendencies of causing lung problems.

Excessive Salt; Salt can make people retain water and excess water causes breathing problems in the lungs.

Acidic foods/drinks; Avoidance or reduction of intake of these will reduce acid reflux symptoms and lung diseases. Examples are citrus,fruit juice, tomato sauce, coffee and spicy foods.
