Lifestyle is a way of life established by society, culture, group, or individual. According to Wikipedia, lifestyle is the interests, opinions, methods, and behavioral orientations of an individual, group, or culture OR simply put, Lifestyle, is how a person exists and there are about 10 types of lifestyles sustained.
These 10 types of lifestyles according to Catherinesearle are a framework or tool for helping you to figure out;

  • What you get the most delight and satisfaction from.

The Activist: Is Someone who must have a cause to believe in and fight for. They have a very deep emotional response to injustice, inequality, need, or wrongdoing. They believe in making the world a better place than they found it.

The Socialite: This type gets excited about meeting new people and finding out new and interesting things about people. They are known as a people-person who gets theirs from interactions with a wide variety of people.

The Academic: They are avid readers mostly of non-fiction books, because of the pleasure of learning something. They have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and learning and get satisfaction from reading, sharing of ideas, and writing.

The Technician: This type will do so well in jobs involving lots of data, spreadsheets, and forms such as accountants and statisticians because they are perfectionists and real stickers for following procedures, taking their time to get details, and very task-focused.

The Natural: They are fascinated by the patterns and intricate details of plants, animals, insects, trees, clouds, rocks, and cloth prints. They also love to collect natural antiques such as fossils, stones, shells, etc. They find satisfaction in appreciating and feeling connected to the beauty of the natural world.

The Provider: They have a soft spot for people and animals in need, and they make the best stay-at-home parent because they get their satisfaction from making other people happy especially their partners and children. Jobs like health or social care, teaching, catering, and veterinary suit them perfectly.

The Bohemian: This type is known to wear their heart on their sleeves. They easily express their feelings of gratitude or disappointment at any given time. They hate feeling constrained by rules which inhibits their behavior which is pleasurable to them. They find satisfaction in being free to be natural and expressing themselves.

The Creative: They are known as the idea generators and problem solvers. They gain satisfaction from the process of creation and imagination then implementing it in a way that will accurately reproduce what they saw in their minds on a paper, canvas, pages, or a new dance step. Examples; Artist, Writer, and a Choreographer.

The Adventurer: Just as the name suggests, this type hates to get stuck in a routine but likes the outdoor life and active physical pursuit of exploring, learning, experiencing new and foreign things and natural elements. They relish transitions and adapt more easily than others.

The Corporate: We can effortlessly speculate that this type likes being part of a group of like-minded people who share common goals or interests whether it's Family, Workplace, or a Community group. They are good at keeping strong long-lasting friendships rather than one or two besties.
When you identify your primary and secondary lifestyle types, you will understand what makes you thick and design a life that targets your source of satisfaction and contentment.
