However, eating the perfect foods or replenishing your body with the right minerals and nutrients required is not only profitable for your mental, physical, and gut health but can also curtail your chances of developing certain types of cancers.
In this article, we are going to discuss approximately some Cancer-causing foods and list some of the Cancer-fighting superfoods to help you discover how to eat mindfully while discerning the carcinogenic and anti-carcinogenic properties of assorted foods and drinks.

Here are some Cancer-causing foods you should avoid for your welfare.

Hydrogenated oil: Vegetable oil is an example of hydrogenated oil and the most commonly used kind of hydrogenated oil. Hydrogenated oils are termed hazardous because many of their varieties are high in deadly trans fats and are notoriously linked to Immune system deficiency, Heart disease, and of course Cancer. Alternatively, you can use Olive oil, Coconut oil, or grapeseed oil for your cooking and frying.

Fried and Processed foods: Fried starchy foods are especially high in Acrylamide. Acrylamide is a substance formed when starchy foods are cooked at a high temperature such as frying, baking, roasting, and toasting. These fried foods such as Potato chips, Plantain chips, French fries, Egg rolls, Doughnuts, Pizza, etc which are salty, delicious, and fulfilling increase your risk of cancer because they are made with hydrogenated vegetable oil and topped with sodium. More so, trans fats and salt can cause an increase in your High blood pressure, Obesity, and other numerous diseases.

Canned tomatoes: Tomatoes are naturally very acidic though it is a staple in many healthy diets and can become hazardous when canned. The reason is that the can lining is usually made with a chemical substance called bisphenol-a, typically known as BPA. Acidic foods can cause more rapid leaching of BPA from the can lining into the food which can put you at risk of cancer when consumed. According to preventionpulse, the FDA(Food and Drug Administration) warns that BPA may alter brain chemistry. The best option is to use or eat farm-fresh tomatoes.

Processed Meat: Processed meats such as Hot dogs, Sausages, Ham, Corned beef, Lunchmeat, and Beef jerky contain chemicals and excessive amounts of salt that are used in the manufacturing process. These chemicals and preservatives used in improving the processed meats' shelf-life in stores are classified as Group 1A carcinogens connected specifically to colorectal and stomach cancer. An alternative option is to eat Fishes and white meats such as chicken, turkey, or tofu a meat substitute.

Red meat: This is classified as a Group 2A carcinogen according to Aetnainternational because it is only marginally better for us than processed meat and is linked to colorectal cancer but can also cause Pancreatic and Prostate cancer. However, it's inevitable for humans to eat red meat, but you will have to take extra measures to ensure you eat just 65-100g of cooked meat per week according to the Cancer council.

Alcohol: Alcohol is regarded as a Group 1A carcinogen and linked to cancer of the Mouth, Breast, Throat, Liver, Bowel, Oesophagus, and Stomach. Most of us enjoy the occasional drink, some of us more than others. Alcohol cancer is dose-dependent in some forms of cancer, this implies that consuming one glass of wine over dinner now and then does not have any negative effect as binge drinking several cups of alcohol in one sitting. You are medically advised to reduce your alcohol intake to as little as possible or swap it with water and juice.

Salted Fish: In some parts of the world especially in Southeast Asia and China, salting is a traditional method of preserving foods but most importantly, Fish. Unfortunately, this method of preservation has resulted in the production of carcinogenic by-products which causes Group 1A cancer in humans just like processed meat and food. The salted fish can be very tasty, salty, and crunchy, but you must limit its intake. Alternatively, ditch it and go for fresh fish or seafood like prawns, squid, or mussels.

Fast foods: Just like processed foods and meat, fast foods are high in fats, starches, sugars and contain hydrogenated oil which is bad for your health and causes unnecessary weight gain. Limiting the intake of such fast foods will help to control calorie intake and maintain a healthy weight. Opt for homemade sandwiches on whole-grain bread, salads, and sushi as a substitute.

Refined bleached flour: According to the centra wealth group, this alone isn't too bad, however, consider the fact that a diet high in carbs messes with your blood sugar levels and increases insulin production which is a favorite food source for cancer cells. The more highly processed the flour is, the higher the carbs content is as well leading to cancerous growth, and studies have shown that after bleaching the flour, traces of chemicals remain in it.
